Academic Support

Bright Paths DC delivers intensive small-group tutoring (1-3 students) designed to boost student proficiency in core subjects like math and reading. Experienced educators partner with students to assist with classroom assignments, cultivate essential study and organizational skills, and monitor progress toward personal academic goals.

College Access

We simplify the path to higher education.  We provide individualized college advising alongside practical strategy sessions and personal statement writing workshops. Students receive comprehensive counseling to navigate financial aid, the FAFSA, and scholarship opportunities, while also participating in college tours and receiving dedicated coaching to ensure first-year college persistence. After graduation, we support students through two years of college, or more as needed.

Career Success

For students transitioning into the  workforce, we offer career exploration workshops, resume building, and targeted interview preparation. Additionally, students develop professional skills and receive direct support to access certificate and training programs in high-demand industries such as IT, healthcare, and the trades. We continue to mentor career students for two years after graduation.

DCPS Partnership:

Bright Paths DC operates through a formal partnership with D.C. Public Schools, which refers students to us and provides access to the DCPS ecosystem. This relationship allows us to layer services in collaboration with like-minded organizations, creating a more comprehensive and coordinated network of support for each student. Our DCPS partnership expands our reach to families by making us discoverable as partner to parents and students across the District.

Out-of-School Time (OST):

While a significant portion of our work is delivered during the school day, we also provide out-of-school-time programming — including sessions during lunch, after school, on weekends, and during the summer — for students who need more intensive or individualized support beyond the classroom. This OST component is essential to reaching students whose needs cannot be fully addressed within the school day alone.
